Lawrence M. Aber, 65, died Saturday at a hospital here. He was born in Warrensburg, Mo., and had lived in Jefferson City since 1947.

Mr. Aber was the vocational supervisor for the Missouri Division of Corrections in Jefferson City for 21 years before he retired in 1960 and had been on the Governor's Advisory Committee for Vocational Education. Earlier, he taught Industrial Arts in the Jefferson City Public School system from 1947 to 1959.

He was graduated with a bachelor's degree from Central Missouri State Teacher's College in Warrensburg and was graduated with a master's degree from Lincoln University in Jefferson City. Mr. Aber taught aircraft mechanics for the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of the Missouri Vocations Association, the Missouri Corrections Association, the Conservation Federation, the Eastside Betterment Association and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. He was a member of the Lincoln University Alumni Association and was a charter member of the Community Christian Church, Jefferson City and its choir.

He leaves two sons, William Aber, Jefferson City and David Aber, Vandenberg AFB, Calif.; two daughters, Miss Roberta Aber, Boston and Miss Eden Aber, Greeley, Colo.; a sister, Mrs. Grace Aber, Marvin, New York; and five grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 1 pm today at the church; burial in Riverview Cemetery, Jefferson City. The family suggests contributions to the church, the American Cancer Society or the Lincoln University Foundation.
