Helen K. Eisenbeiss, age 88, formerly of the LaGrange, Mo., area, died November 10, 2003, at the Lewis County Nursing Home in Canton, Mo. Born October 24, 1915, in rural Canton, Mo., a daughter of Charles G. and Pauline Speckhart Ludwig. She married Art Eisenbeiss on April 12, 1940. He preceded her in death November 15, 1973. At a young age Helen accepted Jesus as her savior and became a member of LaGrange First Baptist Church. After moving to the farm, she attended Ten Mile Baptist Church. Prior to her marriage, she had worked at the Gardner-Denver Foundry in LaGrange. Besides being a farm wife, Helen spent many days gardening and sewing as she raised her family. She also did domestic work for several years. Crafts and reading became favorite hobbies in later years. After moving to Senior Housing at LaGrange, she spent many days sewing for, or sitting with grandchildren and great grandchildren. When Helen's health began to fail, she was cared for by daughter-in-law, Linda Eisenbeiss, in Bill and Linda's Canton, Mo., home. In 1997 her health needs required a move to Lewis County Nursing Home at Canton Mo. While living there Helen continued to read her favorite books.
