Son of Charles and Mary Jane Shields Punneo.
Husband of Alfarata Ward, married 19 November 1886. John died 35 hours and 35 minutes before his wife Alfarata. They had a double funeral on 7 January.

DEATHS 35 HOURS APART
Mr. Punneo died at 12 noon Saturday and Mrs. Punneo died at 11:35 Sunday night, 35 hours apart.
Cline Horton, undertaker of Astoria, came and removed the bodies to that city, where they remained until the hour of services Tuesday at Summum.
They are survived by their two daughters, Mrs. Fewins and Mrs. Seward of Yates City; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The Fewins have resided on J.L. McKeighan's tenant farm four years and are employed by Mr. McKeighan.
Attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. F.A. Fewins and daughter, Florence, Mr. and Mrs. James McKeighan, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Seward, and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Archer of this city, Mr. and Mrs. James Wilburn of Wisconsin.
NEPHEW'S IS THIRD FUNERAL
To add to the sorrow of the family, Clem Ogden, a nephew of Mr. Punneo, was kicked by a horse Saturday and died that that with funeral services being held at 2 o'clock, the same hour of his uncle and aunt. Mr. Ogden resided near Rushville and funeral services were held Tuesday in the Woodland church about two miles from Summum.
