Henry Burleson, 86, of Leland gained his Heavenly Home on November 23, 2011. Henry passed peacefully with his son and daughter-in-law at his bedside at NHRMC.
He was the 11th child of Calvin and Martha Burleson. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings and son, Donald. Living to cherish his memories are his wife Annie Clark of the home and sons, Michael, Jerry (wife Cindy) Burleson and Lloyd and Eric Oxendine, 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Henry served his country with the Army during WWII participating in two major campaigns in Europe and later in the Marines. As Henry left this life he spoke of the love for his wife, "Mama", his family, church and country.
Memorial services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, November 26 at New Hope Baptist Church in Leland. Visitation will be held at 10 AM prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Annie Burleson, 809 Terrace Walk, Leland, N.C, or New Hope Baptist Church, 2727 Mount Misery Road, Leland, N.C.
