Mr. and Mrs. Harrison McBeth, natives of El Dorado County and resident here all of their lives, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on Tuesday at a family dinner at the Blue Bell Coffee Shop [in Placerville]. The couple wed on June 1, 1893, at the residence of the bride's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Toombs, at White Rock Canyon before the Rev. C.C. Pierce.

Mr. McBeth was born at Coloma, son of the late Robert and Lilas McBeth. In his earlier life he was engaged in mining. Later he was employed by the county and also by the city, serving as a city marshal and also serving as a city water works superintendent. For several years past he has been in charge of the chlorination plant of the city water system.
