He was a wealthy real estate investor in the Lima, Ohio area, and willed a large sum to St. Gerard's Catholic Church which paid for part of its school. It is said his portrait still hangs in the school with a plaque acknowledging the gift. Nothing is known about his wife, Mattie. His picture on the right is ca. WWI. -------------------------
Basil Flowers was the youngest son of Simon and "Nancy" Anna Gordon. He married Martha "Mattie" Flautt on 26 Feb 1892 in Perry County, Ohio. She was the daughter of Henry and Catherine (Sanderson) Flautt.
