Mr. Cartwright, who had been ill for six months, resided at 2216 S. Hackley St. He was one of the Class of 1927 at Muncie Central High School, and attended Ball State Teachers College. He was a member of the national and state restaurant associations, was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Industry EUB Church. He was a candidate for 1st district councilman in 1951.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Love; two sons, William and Stephen; his mother, Mrs. Cartwright; a brother, Harry; and two sisters, Mrs. Orille McClurg and Mrs. Paul Hopper, all of Muncie.
