John Pavy was born on March 17, 1791 (possibly March 18) in Sussex County, Delaware and shortly after his family moved to Harrison County Kentucky where he married Jane S Winn on Sept 5, 1811 in Harrison, the daughter of Jamed Winn. He was baptised in 1815 by Elder John Conner. John and Jane Pavy moved from Kentucky to Switzerland County, Indiana where he began his life as a baptist preacher until the close of his death his parents and loving wife preceeded him in death. Rev Pavey died at home in Adams, Decatur County, Indiana on Nov 9,1869 and was buried on the Herbron Cemetery.
