Nola Faye Thompson, 74, 112 Barberry Rd., Unit J-42, Johnson City, died Friday, November 25, 2011, unexpectedly at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Fred T. and Lela Sparks Boone of Rebels Creek, Boonford, North Carolina. She is survived by her husband Jim Thompson and four stepsons, Jim, Craig, Kent, and Scott Thompson. She is also survived by her sisters, Mary Lou Willis and Helen Bartlett and her husband Frank of Bakersville, North Carolina, Betty Jo Gordon of Johnson City, Tennessee, Mae Jarrett and her husband Frank of Middleburg, Florida and one brother, Henry Boone and his wife Joyce of Spruce Pine, North Carolina. She was a graduate of the 1956 class of Bowman High School in Bakersville, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Phil Deyton and her daughter Lisa Deyton Alspach.

The graveside service for Mrs. Thompson will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, December 1, 2011 at Rebels Creek Cemetery, North Carolina with Rev. Bedford Transou officiating. Active pallbearers will be Jim,Craig, Kent, and Scott Thompson. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:50 P.M. Thursday. The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 30 from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at Appalachian Funeral Home, Johnson City.
