WEST FRANKFORT -- Marty E. Richardson, 58, died at 6:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011, at his residence, surrounded by his family.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 28, 2011, in Southpoint Church of God in West Frankfort, with Pastor Tod Parchman officiating. Interment will be in Logan Church of God Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011, at the church.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Envelopes will be available and accepted at the church.
Marty was employed by Frontier Communications for many years, and he was a member of Southpoint Church of God.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and he was an avid NASCAR fan.
Marty was born March 6, 1953, in Harrisburg to the Rev. Forrest and Louise (Abney) Richardson.
He married Lyn Graddy on Feb. 19, 1972, in Carrier Mills.
Survivors include his wife, Lyn Richardson; one son and daughter-in-law; two daughters and sons-in-law; mother, Louise Richardson of Sesser; 8 grandchildren; 4 brothers; 3 sisters; and mother-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his father, the Rev. Forrest Richardson; and father-in-law, Bob Graddy.
Union Funeral Home in West Frankfort is in charge of arrangements.
