Isaac Milton Showalter, son of Jacob and Suzana Showalter, was born April 8, 1849 in Dearborn County, Indiana, and departed this life December 28th, 1932, at the age of 83 years, 8 months and 20 days.

He came to Kansas in 1857 (on the 1855 Kansas state census) with his father and step-mother and located on what is now known as the Lanning farm, where he grew to manhood and stood the hardships of a new country and pioneer days with oxen for power and cow paths for roads.

On July 10th, 1870, he united in marriage with Aily Ann Bradshaw who departed this life August 1902. To this union were born two children, Henry Showalter of Boise City, Oklahoma, and Rosy A. Holloman, who preceded her father in death.

In 1876 he was converted to the United Brethren Faith. He was a strong believer in the word of God.

Besides his son he leaves to mourn his departure five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

He is the last of his father's family of sixteen boys.

Funeral services were conducted at the M. E. Church at Goodrich, Friday afternoon by Reverend G. J. Welker. Interment was made in the Goodrich Cemetery.
