Funeral arrangements for John G. Carper, 72, of 1400 Moore St will be at 1 pm Thurs at Jones Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Strum of Calvary Temple officiating. Burial will follow in Enterprise Cemetery. Mr. Carper died Mon at St. Joseph Hospital.

He was born Jul 8, 1917 in Promise, Ore. He married Josephine Wells on Dec 21, 1937 in Olympia and moved to Bellingham in 1981.

Mr. Carper was a member of the West Seattle Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Bodies, the Shrine and the Nile Temple.

He is survived by his wife, Josephine Carper of Bellingham; sons Dennis Carper of Bellingham; and Victor Carper of Missoula, Mont; daughters Karen Harland of Port Townsend and Johnel Fox of Staten Island, NY; brothers Joe Carper and Wilburn Carper, both of Roseburg, Ore; sister Helen Clemenzi of Massachusetts; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
