Mr. Alderfer was born July 31, 1927 in Lansdale, Pa., son of Frank and Barbara Alderfer. He retired in 1975 as a First Lt. in the U.S. Army after serving 20 years. He was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church, and was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Stewart Alderfer.
Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Reverend Ralph L. and Marion Alderfer; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Genevieve and Roland W. Batten and Eatha and Charles A. Sommer; nieces and nephews, David Luther Alderfer, Ruthann Nancy Bartlett, Craig Roland Batten, Andrea Michelle Burman, Cynthia Jane Sakowski, Michael Andrew Sommer, Roger Douglas Sommer, Martie Ruth Slocumb, and Raymond P. Stewart. Preceded in death by a nephew Phillip Kent Sommer; great nieces and nephews and great grand nieces and nephews.
