RANDOLPH TWP. Lori Faith Sams (Gump), 40, took God's hand and won her courageous and in spiring battle on June 25, 2003.

She was born in Akron and had lived in Mogadore and Springfield, Ohio, for most of her life. She was employed by Carter Industries for over 16 years, but her true calling was being a wife and moth er. Lori was an active member of High Street Christian Church, where she served as a deacon and in the nursery. She never ceased from helping others, as evidenced by her being a VIP blood donor.

Preceded in death by her son, Justin Scott Gump; father, James N. Gump Sr.; and mother-in-law, Rosemary Sams, Lori is survived by her loving husband, Thomas; daughter, McKenzie; son, Garrett; mother, Eva H. Gump; grandmother, Doris Walker; brothers, Pastor Jamie (Carol) of Mount Vernon, Ohio, Jody (Kathie), Dale (Tonya), and Dan (Julie) Gump; sisters, Su san (Everett) Rogers and Melanie (Chris) Crockett; father-in-law, John Sams; brother-in-law, Jeff (Vonda) Sams; sisters-in-law, Roseann (Jim) Skinner and Beth (Jerry) Lange; many nieces, nephews, and more friends and relatives than we can begin to count.

Funeral service Monday, 11 a.m., at High Street Christian Church, 131 S. High St., Akron, with Pastor Dr. Tom Madden offici ating. Burial at Restland Cemetery in Brimfield. Friends may call Sunday, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd., Akron, and one hour prior to service time on Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lori Sams Benevolent Fund at any First Merit Bank branch in Ohio.
