Mr. Jess Carson Dickie III, formerly of Amarillo, Texas passed away in the Windcrest Nursing & Rehab Center in Fredericksburg on Monday, November 21st, 2011 at the age of 83 years. Jess was born in Amarillo, Texas on September 14th, 1928 the son of Jess Carson Dickie Jr. and Pauline Reeder Dickie.

He moved to Tyler, Texas as a young boy and grew up there, leaving to attend college first at the Citadel, then finishing at the University of Texas in Austin where he earned a bachelor's degree. After graduation he served as a lieutenant in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Upon return from his service in the Navy, Jess attended Baylor Law school where he earned his law degree. He married Joy Sumners of Paragould, Arkansas, on May 25, 1957. Jess then returned to Amarillo, Texas where he practiced law for almost 50 years.

Loved ones include: Joy Sumners Dickie of Fredericksburg, Carson & Ann Dickie of Fredericksburg Two daughters, Claire Dickie Moore and Mary Laura Dickie both of Amarillo, Sarah Moore, Travis Moore, Brynn Bowyer, Cori Dickie, and Jess Dickie, Mary Martha Dossett of Waco, Texas

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 26th, 2011 at 1:00 P. M. in the St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Graveside services and interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery in Fredericksburg.
