WARREN C. GARNER
MINERAL WELLS, Texas - A private funeral was conducted for Warren Calvin Garner, 77, under direction of White's Funeral Home.
He was born Jan. 29, 1921, in Carmen to Frank and Helen Patzkowski Garner and died Saturday, April 25, 1998, in Mineral Wells, Texas, where he had been a resident the past year.
He graduated from Enid High School in 1940 and was a veteran of World War II and Korean War. He served with the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific from 1942 to 1946 and in Korea from 1952 to 1954.
On Nov. 9, 1952, he married Barbara Kea in Jackson, Miss. She died in 1968.
Garner lived in Enid most of his life and owned and operated Garner's Liquor Store, 401 E. Randolph, for 10 years. He also was in real estate and investments. He was a member of American Legion and the VFW.
Surviving are one son, Steve of Oklahoma City; one daughter, Jan Grizzle of Arlington, Texas; three sisters, Marcella Lafferty of Wichita, Kan., Lorraine Muncy of St. Louis, and Jean Schvaneveldt of Saint George, Utah; and four grand-children.

Warren was cremated. His wishes were to have his ashes scattered in the Pacific Ocean. His ashes were first buried in McAdams Cemetery in Graford, Palo Pinto, TX. Later, his ashes were removed and half were scattered in the Pacific Ocean; the remaining ashes were buried in Enid, OK.
