She was born Sept. 10, 1925, in Argonia, Kan., the daughter of Willard and Southie Hopson Stephens.
She was a teacher of grades 1-6 in a one-room school house, a farm wife and a homemaker. Laveda collected vintage dolls, glassware and antiques.
On June 11, 1944, she married Argonia High School classmate Laurence Donald Moyer in Wellington, Kan. They resided in Wichita, Hutchinson, and for most of their lives on a farm in Partridge, Kan. He died Jan. 12, 2008.
Survivors include: sons, Donald and Jan Moyer of Fort Calhoun, Neb., Carl Kent and Connie Moyer of Sanford, Fla., Denis and Aleta Moyer of Hutchinson and Dale Moyer of Grain Valley, Mo.; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, Marc Allen Moyer; two brothers, Clifford and Boyd Stephens; a sister, Lois Adkins; and an infant sister.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, at Elliott Chapel, with Reverend Samuel Askew officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, with the family to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, at Argonia Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Hospice House of Reno County or to Victory in the Valley, in care of the mortuary
