Stephanie "Stella" M. Hunter, 90, of Austintown, passed away at 9:45 a.m. Monday, November 21, 2011 at Briarfield at Ashley Circle.
Mrs. Hunter was born on December 16, 1920 in Youngstown, Ohio the daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Hrzenjak) Herman and was a lifelong area resident.
A homemaker, Mrs. Hunter was of the Catholic faith and was baptized and attended Sts. Peter & Paul Croatian Catholic Church in Youngstown. With her husband, she belonged to the organ club. She enjoyed gardening and animals. She also enjoyed rides through the mountains while enjoying the fall foliage.
Mrs. Hunter was married on April 26, 1938 to Frank L. Hunter Sr. and he preceded her in death on October 1, 1996.
Mrs. Hunter is survived by seven children Frances (John) Hendershot of Austintown, Judy Hunter of Austintown, Frank Hunter Jr. of Warren, PA, Patricia (Gary) Calkins of Rochester, NY, Nancy (Ray) Johns of Tallahassee, FL, Susan Canavan of Youngstown and David (Suzan) Hunter of Higley, AZ; nineteen grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents and husband, Mrs. Hunter was also preceded in death by a daughter Joan Hunter and two sisters Rose and Theresa.
