Ashley LeGrand Gardner, 64, died Tuesday, February 6, 2001 at his residence. Born in Alcolu, January 26, 1937, he was a son of the late Kirby L. and Evelyn Brunson Gardner. He was owner of Ashley Gardner Trucking Company, co-owner of Carolina Engine and Equipment Co., Inc. in Charleston, an Air Force veteran and a member of Dorchester-Waylyn Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by sons, Ashley L. Gardner Jr. and Donald Gardner.
