Rev. Bill Haywood
Bro. Bill was born on July 17, 1940, in Talladega and graced Heaven's doors on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011.
Bro. Bill was a graduate of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, and received his doctorate from Luther Rice Seminary. Bro.
Bill served as a faithful Southern Baptist minister for over 35 years and retired in 2001.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sarah Haywood; and his father, John T. Haywood.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; son, Billy (Sabrina); daughter, Carol (Kenny); two sisters, Jean and Bett; and one brother, Don. In death, he leaves to his precious grandchildren, Andrew Newsome, Courtney Crosby Newsome, Joshua Newsome, Rustin Haywood, Katherine Proffitt Haywood and Autumn Haywood; and a legacy of his compassion, forgiveness and love for family.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.
Funeral services for the Rev. Bill Haywood, 71, Rainbow City, will be held Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Collier-Butler Chapel.
Burial at Midway Memorial Gardens, Talladega.
Services will be conducted by the Revs. Sam Day and David Denson.
