Mrs. Anna Pierce Dies
Croghan ~ Mrs. Anna Pierce, 91, widow of Fred C. Pierce, died this morning at 2 in Mercy hospital, Watertown, where she was since March 9. She had been a patient for five years in the Feistal nursing home, Deer River.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Saint Stephen's church with Reverend Anthony Moore, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Lowville Rural cemetery. Friends may call at the Virkler funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
Her only survivors are: a niece, Mrs. Theodore Peak, and a nephew, Roy Bier, Detroit, Michigan.
She was born in the town of New Bremen September 26, 1875, a daughter of Nicholas J. and Susan Turck Lomber. She was married to Fred W. Pierce. He died Jan. 29, 1952. He was woods manager for T. B. Basslin. She was a member of Saint Stephen's church and its Rosary society and a charter member of Saint Stephen's cemetery association.
