Murder Victim.

Bonnie was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, the beloved daughter of Gordon and Karen Craig. She was three-years-old when her mother married Gary Campbell, and he became her "Dad". Growing up, she had moved frequently because of her stepfather's job with British Petroleum and she went to six elementary schools and two junior highs. She'd learned to fit in quickly. The family moved to Anchorage, Alaska, in 1988, and she graduated from Service High School in 1994. She was a past member of the Service High orchestra and had served as president of S.A.D.D. (Students Against Drunk Drivers). She loved writing, music, playing the violin and viola, playing in the Service High orchestra, being on the wrestling and swim team, and horseback riding. A model teenager, she attended the University of Alaska, Anchorage, and worked at Sam's Club, where she handed out food samples. She was a good student, liked to write poetry and was studying to become a psychologist. She was also planning to go to San Francisco to join her boyfriend, Cameron, and attend college there. She had a zest for life and a knack for getting her own way. She was living with her dad when she was last seen early in the morning on her way to classes, where her first class was to begin at 7:00 a.m. Later that day, she was discovered deceased in McHugh Creek at mile 112 of the Seward Highway, south of Anchorage. Her killer, Kenneth M. Dion, was finally arrested and convicted about 13 years later through DNA matching. Bonnie is survived by her mother, Karen (Jim Foster) Campbell; her father, Gordon Craig of Calgary, Alberta; her step-dad, Gary Campbell; her brothers, Jason Craig and Adam Campbell; her sister, Samantha Campbell; maternal grandparents, Kaj2 and Bernice Larsen of Welland, Ontario; paternal grandparents, Borden and Thelma Campbell of Prince Edward Island; paternal great-grandmother, Hilda Murray of Prince Edward Island; and paternal grandparents, Marion and Roderick Craig of Ontario. A funeral was held at Rabbit Creek Community Church with Pastor Terry Hill officiating. She is forever loved and dearly missed.
