Mr. Solomon Hicks, of Graysonville, purchased a couple of handsome tombs of a Madison firm today, to be erected at the graves of his father and mother in their family burying ground at Graysonville.

Serve at Hicks Rites

Funeral services for Dr. Solomon Hicks, colored veterinarian, were conducted at Ebenezer M. E. church yesterday at 2 p.m. in charge of Rev. C. D. Stempley, Rev. S. M. Gaines, Rev. Landis Davis, of Hanover, and Rev. May of North Vernon. Burial was in Springdale cemetery.

Active pall-bearers were William Inskeep, William Chandler, Claude Whittaker, Rev. Landis Davis, Benjamin Humes and Louis O'Banion. Honorary: Peter Johnson, Charles Turner, Leonard Jenkins, Joseph Shelton, Charles Foree and Henry Neal. Flower girls: Mary Chandler, Gertrude Chandler, Harriet Shirley Inskeep, Thelma Burton and Claudia Whittaker.
