Mr. Blanton was born July 1, 1952 in Calabash, NC to the late Robert Lee Blanton, Jr. and Annie Jane Ward Blanton. He worked as a self-employed building contractor. Mr. Blanton was the Sunday School Teacher at Beulah Baptist Church; was owner and operator of Blanton Builders; and was a wonderful family man. He was preceded in death by his brother James Blanton.
He is survived by his wife Janelle Blanton; two sons Paul Lee Blanton, wife Kelly Elaine, of Shallotte, NC, and Robert E. Blanton, of Calabash, NC; a daughter Danielle Blanton, of Calabash, NC; a brother Bruce Ward, of Rose Pine, LA; three sisters Barbara Gore, of Winnabow, NC, Ann Barrick, of Carlisle, PA, and Brookie Conn, of Calabash, NC; and five grandchildren Austin, Gabrielle, Chloe, Nolan, and Jacob.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Beulah Baptist Church by the Reverend V.C. Potter, Jr., and Jesse Stephens. Burial will follow in the Blanton Cemetery, Calabash, NC.
