Pittsford, June 9 - The remains of Mrs. Mary Sutherland True, widow of Charles H. True, arrived here Sunday morning from Washington, D. C., for funeral and interment. They were taken to the home of her sister, Mrs. Susan Carnahan, of Washington avenue, this village, and the funeral service was held in Christ church and conducted by Rev. William Davis, rector. Interment was made in the True lot in the village cemetery. Mrs. True's death was due to an accident on Wednesday, June 4, when she was out shopping about 5 o'clock in the afternoon, accompanied by her grandson, Charles H. True, 4 years old. They were crossing the street and she was knocked down by a car, causing a fractured skull and shoulder, and she did not regain consciousness, passing away at the Garfield hospital on Friday morning after an operation. She was born in Pittsford 67 years ago, the second child of the late Isaac and Gulelma Wilbur Sutherland, and with the exception of the last three years her life was spent in her native town. Mr. True died four years ago and she remained a short time in the Sutherland homestead which they had purchased, then sold it and went to make her home with her only child, Harry Sutherland True, at Washington, D. C. Besides her son and four grandchildren, she is survived by five sisters and one brothers, Miss Cora Sutherland, of Alameda, Cal.; Charles Sutherland of Spencerport; Mrs. Curtis Carnahan, of Pittsford; Mrs. Jane Hunting Parkhurst, of San Francisco; Mrs. William J. Agate, of Pittsford, and Mrs. Willard G. Rich of New York city.
