Chas. Beringer Answers Final Summons

Died:At the family residence in this city, Sunday, Dec. 26, 1915, at 4:25 p.m., Chas. Beringer, aged fifty-two years and eleven days.

Mr. Beringer had been declining health for some months and while friends and loved ones relized that the final summons was not far off, his death came suddenly. He was feeling better than usual and had spent a good day being uo and about the house part of the time. While he was lying down he was suddenly attacked with hemorrhage and passed away in a few minutes. He leaves to mourn his loss a devoted wife and three children, one son Mr. Milton Beringer and two daughters, Mrs. Robert Mackey and little Elnor Beringer. His eldest son,the late George Beringer, preceded him to the great beyond several years ago. Five sisters also also survive him, Mrs. Sophie Kohlenberg and Mrs. Amada Luerser of New Braunfels, Mrs. Kate Maurer of San Antonio, Mrs. Augusta Shieffer of Georgetown, and Mrs. Anna Schmidt of Richmond, Texas.

Mr. Beringer was a native of New Braunfels. He moved to Gonzales in 1882, since which time he had been engaged in business here continuously until some two months ago when failing health obliged him to retire.

He was a member of the Odd Fellows and Herman Sons Orders. A man of sterling character,a true friend, he was held in highest esteem and his passing is deeply regretted by many friends and associates not only in town but in the county as well.

The funeral has been set for this afternoon at 4 o'clock. Services will be conducted at the family residence and interment will be in the Odd Fellows cemetery.

The Inquirer joins the host of friends of the family in extending sincere condolence in the hour of deep sorrow that has come to them in the midst of the Yuletide season .
