College Basketball Coach. Served as Basketball coach for North Carolina State from 1980 to 1989, and as a sports commentator for ABC and ESPN. His record was 346-212 in 19 seasons as a NCAA head coach. During his tenure, he appeared in eight NCAA Tournaments and won a National Championship with North Carolina State in 1983. He was twice voted ACC Coach of the Year. He was inducted into the Rutgers Basketball Hall of Fame in April 1993, into the Rutgers Hall of Distinguished Alumni in May, 1999, and into New York City's Basketball Hall of Fame in September, 1999.
