Widow Katharina Elizabeth Grosskopf nee Kissler, was born in Frank, Russia on 5 April 1862 and baptized and confirmed there.

She married Johannes Grosskopf. In 1906 the family came to America and lived first in Colorado, but in 1915 they moved to Scottsbluff, Nebraska. For 19 years the members of the Grosskopf family have been loyal members of our Emmanuel Congregation. Sister Grosskopf became ill with a stroke on 19 Jun and died in the home of her son Johannes on 30 Jun at an age of 72 years, 2 months and 25 days.

Her life was a quiet one, dedicated to God. She was able to remain steadfast in suffering and sorrow. She was able to go to her rest six months after her deceased husband. Her beloved family which wishes the mother blessed peace, are: a brother Henry Kissler of Evans, Colorado, three sons, Johannes, George and Konrad, two daughters, Mrs. Johannes Weiss and Mrs. Katharina Glantz from Sidney, 37 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren as well as many friends and acquaintances.
