He was a retired employee of the former Burlington Industries and a Korean Conflict Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife Nellie King Allgood, his daughter Susan Roberts of Baskerville, two sons James A. Allgood, Jr. of Baskerville and Paul A. Allgood of South Boston, his sister Marion Brame of Boydton, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A. M. Tuesday at Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory followed by cremation.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7:00 to 8:30 P. M. at the funeral home.
