Mrs. John Skuzacek died at her home near Pleasant Lake, Helena Township on Thursday of last week of tumor of the brain.
She was born on [January 30], 1840, in Dunajice, Trebon, Bohemia and was married there to her surviving husband and they came to America [about 1868] and settled on a farm in Helena township about 40 years ago. She was a good christian and her kind affable disposition, endeared her to all who knew her. She carried $600 life insurance in St. Wenceslaus society.
Besides her husband she leaves one son, John, who lives at home and four daughters, Mrs. Albert Smisek and Mrs. Thomas Tuma, of Lonsdale, Miss Barbara, at home, and Mrs. Martin Vlazny, of Menona, Iowa, to mourn her death. All attended the funeral. She also leaves one- brother-Thomas Krenik, of Montgomery, one sister Mrs. Catherine Vanek, in Bohemia-and other relatives.
Two daughters died, Anna (Sister Nepomucena) died eight years ago and was buried at New Castle, Wis., and Mary died 26 years ago and was buried here.
The funeral was held from the catholic church at 11 o'clock Saturday forenoon and the interment make in the local cemetery, Rev. Dean Cermak officiating; A requiem high mass was celebrated at 10 o'clock on Monday morning by Rev. J. A. Kral.
