EAST MIDVALE--Our dear Mama and Grandma, Maud Johnson Savage, age 85, died July 14, 1992 of causes incident to age.

Born in Antimony, Utah, Janurary 16, 1907 to George R. and Amanda Johnson. Married Leland Fay Savage Nov. 7, 1927; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He preceded her in death in 1971. Active member of the LDS Church. Over the years she generously shared her many creative talents with others, teaching art and craft classes throughout the Western United States and Canada.

Maud and Leland had six children, George Herbert and wife, Joyce; Lila June Black and husband, Dewey; Bonnie Lee VanderHoek and husband, Cornelis; Maudene ''Deanie'' Adams and husband, Kendall; Rebecca Jane Young and husband, Richard J.; 34 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; foster daughters, Wanda Sweeney, Karen Mayo; sisters, June Crawford and Fern Johnson. Preceded in death by a daughter, Diana Maw.

Funeral services will be held at the Midvale East 4th Ward, 87 East 7100 South, Friday July 17, 1992 at 2 p.m. Friends may call Thursday, 6-8 p.m. at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State, and Friday at the church, one hour prior to services. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates.

The family expresses gratitude and appreciation for the loving, tender care given by the staff of the Holladay Health Care Center.
