William ST LEGER's death is recorded in 1582, aged 56, in a "Military Caste" pedigree published on-line; he may not have been buried at Ulcombe, as it appears that he was disinherited by his father, & may have gone to live in Ireland (where his two known children made marriages); however, he is mentioned in a number of documents held in the Archives of Canterbury Cathedral, concerning the Manor of Belgar, Kent, including one of two "final concords" dated Hilary Term, vii Eliz (1564-65) concerning the sale of the Manor to Edmond, Arthur & William MIDDLETON by William ST LEGER of Bilsington, Kent, & "...his wife Sibil"; and another, also concerning the Belgar sale, dated x Eliz (1568), being another final concord between Edmund & Arthur MIDDLETON, and William and his brothers Sir Warham & Nicholas ST LEGER.
William marr Isabel KEYES, said to have been the daughter of Thomas KEYES, Sergeant-Porter to the Court of Queen Elizabeth.
William & Isabel had other issue:
2. Warham ST LEGER, b Doneraile, 1560; killed in battle with Hugh MAGUIRE, at or near Cork, 1599; marr Elizabeth WROTHE, widow of Humphrey MACKWORTH & of Henry DAVELLS, with issue.
