Dorothy E. DuBois, daughter of Christian and Martha (Johnson) Larson, was born on Sept. 3, 1911, on the family farm in Phillips Co., KS. She died on Aug. 16, 2001, at the Salina Regional Health Center at the age of 89.
She attended Agra High School and graduated with the class of 1930. She then attended Kansas State University for one year.
On March 6, 1938, she was united in marriage to Howard E. DuBois in Jewell, KS. They became the parents of two sons, Kenneth and Keith. They spent their entire married life on the farm north of Agra. After Howard's death on March 24, 1990. Dorothy continued to live in Agra until a year ago, when she moved to Salina.
Dorothy was a member of the Agra United Methodist Church where she served as pianist for many years. She was also a member ob the United Methodist Women and the EHU. She enjoyed spending time gardening and working with flowers.
She was preceded in death by her husband Howard; her parents Christian and Martha Larson; two brothers, George and Wallace Larson; and two sisters, Viola Dennis and Neva Billings.
Survivors include her two sons, Kenneth DuBois and wife Janet of Salina, KS and Keith DuBois and wife Sharon of Quinter, KS; also five grandchildren: Jodi DuBois of Mission, KS, Jill Heidrick and husband Jeff of Olathe, KS, Amy Kroeger and husband Gary of Quinter, KS, Kirk DuBois of Plano, TX, and Mark Johnson of Carrollton, TX; and two great-grandchildren Mitchel and Alise Kroeger of Quinter, KS.
Services were Sat., Aug. 18 at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel in Phillipsburg, KS. Rev. Jack Ropp officiated. Interment was at West Cedar Cemetery in Phillips Co., KS. Arrangements were made by Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel.
