On May 1, 1917 Carrie was united in marriage to James Kobliska. James (Jopia) was born August 5, 1886 in North Washington Township, Chickasaw County, Iowa, son of Mathias Kobliska and Mary Blecha. He died February 2, 1864 at Fort Lauderdale, Broward County, Florida, aged 77 years, 5 months and 27 days. His baptism name was Wenceslaus Kobliska. His remains were returned to Waterloo and interred in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Their three known children, all born in Chickasaw County, Iowa, were: Clarence John, b. 6 Jan 1918 at New Hampton; Robert Kobliska, b. 4 Nov 1919 at Washington Twp., Alta Vista; & LaVerne Kobliska, b. 1924.
All three sons were in the Army during World War II with Clarence and LaVerne serving the Pacific Theatre and Robert in the European Theatre.

Services of Mrs. Carrie Kobliska, 86, of 903 Bayard St., will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Edwards Catholic Church with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. She died of heart failure Tuesday at Schoitz Medical Center.
She was born March 1, 1896, at Deerfield, daughter of John and Elizabeth Swehia Praska. She married James Kobliska Mary 1, 1917, at Alta Vista. He died Feb. 2, 1964.
Survivors include a son LaVerne of 1801 Sioux St., 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and a siser, Mary Taylor of New Hampton.
Friends may call after noon Thursday at Oppold Funeral Home, where a Catholic Daughters of America rosary will be said at 3 and another rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
