Lower Macungie township lost a loyal citizen by death yesterday morning when Wallace Tilghman Bauer passed away at his home near East Texas following a brief illness. He was aged 54 years. Mr. Bauer served the community as a school director for several terms and always was in the forefront in the sponsoring of anything that held promise of being of good to the community. He was a painter by trade but lately had conducted his father's farm near East Texas. He was born in Lower Macungie township, a son of Charles W. and Martha Andreas Bauer. After attending the schools of the community, he took a course in the Allentown Commercial school. He was a member of Grace Lutheran church, Macungie, the Knights of the Golden Eagle, of Macungie, the Macungie beneficial association and the Wescosville Fire company. He is survived by his father; his widow, Ella, a daughter of the late Dr. A. N. Miller; two sons, Luther A. and Martin C., and one grandchild. The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon with services at his late home at 2 o'clock. Rev. E. A. Yehl and Rev. M. H. Brensinger officiating. Interment will be made in the Solomon Union cemetery, Macungie.
