Thomas M. Burns, 90, of 1479 E. Van Buren St. died at 8:35 a.m. Monday in St. Mary's Hospital. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at J. J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home.
Mr. Burns was born in Shelby County, a son of Alfred and Ellen Black Burns. He was a charter member of the Church of the Nazarene; lived in Decatur for 60 years; and worked first for Lyons, then for Muellers, and at Walrus Cabinet Makers. He married Nora Neideffer on Jan. 20, 1901, in Todds Point.
Surviving are his wife; sons Floyd G., Colorado Springs, Colo.; Dean, Decatur; daughters Mrs. Orville (Edna) Boutcher, Mrs. Earl (Allison) Pansy, both of Decatur; sister Mrs. Ray (Fannie) Whitacre, El Reno, Oklahoma; 25 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; six great-great- grandchildren.
