Ruby Evelyn Molen Robison Thurman, 92, of Idaho Falls, died November 12, 1998, at Idaho Falls Care Center of causes incident to age. She was under the care of Good Samaritan Hospice.
She was born November 25, 1905, in Lincoln, Idaho, to Ernest Lawrence Molen and Susetta Ormond Molen. She grew up in Lincoln until she was 10, when the family moved to Ammon, Idaho. She attended schools in Ammon and graduated from Ammon High School, which was formed in 1921. She graduated with honors from Brigham Young College in Logan, Utah, with a teaching degree.
On June 25, 1925, she married Roy Asper Robison in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They homesteaded their ranch in Bone, Idaho, and later moved to Ammon for the winter months. He died in June of 1968. She was a homemaker and mother and taught school before her marriage. On June 27, 1973, she married Oscar Marlon Thurman in Idaho Falls. He died May 16, 1987.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various capacities over the years. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting, quilt making and homemaking. She was an excellent cook and her family especially loved her rolls.
Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Yvonne Robinson (Don) of Idaho Falls; six sons, Maurice LeRoy Robison (Lola) of Ammon, Richard Robison (Carol), Dr. Rulon D. Robison (Joan), and W.K. Robison (Jean), all of Idaho Falls, Alex Val Robison (Connie) of Orem, Utah, and Steve Robison (Renae) of Salt Lake City; 20 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters, one brother and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Ammon LDS 1st Ward, 3000 Central, with Bishop Fenton Tyler officiating. The family will meet with friends Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave., Idaho Falls, and Tuesday for one hour before services at the church. Burial will be in Ammon Cemetery.
