Virginia Carolin Walker was the daughter of Charles Walker and Sarah Calloway. On 2 April 1840, she married James E Ball in Cabell County, Virginia. This union was blessed with 12 children. James and Virginia were living in what is now Wayne County, West Virginia when the following children were born:
Francis Ann 1841 - 1927
Jiles Henry 1843 - 1901
LaFayette 1846 - 1866
Jamerson M 1848 - 1898
Cynthia 1851 - 1935
They moved to Lawrence County, Ohio near Hanging Rock and had the following children:
Stanford 1854 - 1856
Jane Elizabeth 1856 - 1927
Virginia Caroline 1859 - 1929
Cassa 1861 - 1864
They next moved to Huntington County, Indiana where was born:
William Harrison 1864 - 1960
Their last two children were born near Seneca, Newton County, Missouri:
Charles Walker 1867 - 1935
Albert Edward 1870 - 1942
