DALLAS AIRMAN DIES IN FLORIDA PLANE CRASH

Cpl. Tom F. Cherry, son of Robert Cherry, 4232 Cole, an employee of The Dallas News, was killed Friday morning in a plane crash at Hendricks Field, Sebring, Fla., Army authorities notified his father.

Cpl. Cherry was an aerial engineer and had been stationed there several months. A graduate of North Dallas High School, he enlisted in the Army Air Forces more than a year ago, just after his graduation. A brother, Marlin Cherry, in the Army Air Forces long before Pearl Harbor, has been in England with AAF ground forces about a year.

Corporal Cherry is survived by his father; four sisters, Mrs. Marguerite Hunt, San Antonio; Mrs. Marie Crawford, Albany, GA; Mrs. Jimmy Ling and Miss Carolyn Cherry, both of Dallas; two brothers, George Cherry, West Palm Beach, Fla., and Marlin.

The body will be returned to Dallas for funeral services and burial.

SERVICES WEDNESDAY FOR CPL. TOM CHERRY

Funeral services for Cpl. Tom F. Cherry.21, son of Robert Cherry, 4232 Cole, one of five men killed in a plane crash at Hendricks Field, Fla., last Friday, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Liberty and Live Oak, with the Rev. T. B. Westbrook officiating.

Burial will be in Restland Memoriala Park, and pallbearers will be Allen Ripley, Tom Cormody, Harold Richards, Rufus Hyde, C. F. Anderson, and Lindon Baker.

Corporal Cherry, an aerial engineer, was a graduate of North Dallas High School and had been in the Army Sir forces for more than a year. A brother, Marlin Cherry, is serving with the Air Forces in England.
