1ST. LIEUT. JAMES HOMER BROWN

DALLAS FLIER KILLED IN CRASH AT BIG SPRING

First. Lieut. James H. Brown, 24, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Brown, Dallas, Army flight instructor at Ellington Field, Houston, was killed in a plane crash at Big Spring Wednesday while en route back to Houston from El Paso, and another officer in the plane with him was seriously injured.

Lieutenant Brown had flown another officer to El Paso to accompany the body of another soldier home and was returning to his base when the accident occurred.

A graduate of Technical High School here, Lieutenant Brown attended the University of Texas for a while, and entered the Army Air Forces in January 1941. He was graduated from Ellington Field last August and assigned there as an instructor. He formerly lived at 3626 San Jacinto in Dallas. He is survived by his wife, a daughter, his parents, and a brother, Robert Brown.

The body will arrive in Dallas Friday morning for funeral services and burial, details of which have not been completed.
