He was born Oct. 19, 1911, in Hagerman, son of William A. and Loretta Furniss Allen, He moved to American Falls where he attended schools. Mr. Allen was a veteran of World War II, where he served in the U.S. Air Force. He later married Margarette M. Harrell on June 16, 1954, in Elko, Nev. He moved to Rupert in 1956, where he had since resided. He was employed by the J.R. Simplot Co. in Heyburn until his retirement. He was also a self-employed truck driver.
Mr. Allen was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Surviving are his wife of Rupert; one daughter, Jane Bean, Rupert; one son, James F. Allen, Rupert one stepson, Nolan Bakwell, Twin Falls; three brothers, Joe F. Allen, American Falls, Bud Allen, King Hill, and George Allen, Missouri; two sisters, Ruby Hendrickson, Twin Falls, and Billie Allen, Mountain Home; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Hansen Mortuary Chapel in Rupert, with Elder Burton Baughman officiating. Burial will be in the Rupert Cemetery with military graveside rites. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral at the Hansen Mortuary Chapel.
