Mr. Garland Wesley Watkins, 82, of Route 1, Box 293, Athens, AL, died July 4, 1987, at Huntsville Hospital.
Funeral services were held July 5 at 2 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home Chapel with E. N. Lovell and Carl Witty officiating. Burial was in the Gatlin Cemetery with Taylor Funeral Home in charge.
A native of Giles County, TN, Mr. Watkins was a resident of this area all of his life. He was the son of the Late John and Dollie Wallace Watkins. Mr. Watkins was a member of the Ardmore Church of Christ and a retired employee of L&N Railroad.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Annie Kull Watkins; one daughter, Mars. Nell Whitt of Huntsville; two sisters, Mrs. Oleta W. Bailey of Ardmore and Mrs. Tommie Sharpe of Athens; two granddaughters, Shelia Osborne and Kenneth Slaton; and four great-grandchildren. [Your Community Shopper, Ardmore, TN]
