Dean F. FOLSTER, 79, former Mayor of Ephraim, died August 07 in a Provo hospital following a heart attack.
He was born in Ephraim, March 18, 1984 to Chris F. and Mary Ann Beal FOLSTER. He married Ora Joyce GREAVES July 25, 1917. One year later the marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.
He spent 16 years in the Ephraim City government. He completed the unexpired terms of Sophus Bertleson and J. W. Humphrey as mayor. He was elected and served a four-year term as mayor from 1962-1966.
He was a retired engineer for the Union Pacific Railroad and was a farmer, livestockman and turkey grower. He served as Ephraim City water master for many years and as weighman for the Ephraim Scales Company. He was a veteran of World War I and was an active member of the American Legion Post 108.
He is survived by his widow, sons: Oral Dean, Provo, and John Dale, Ephraim; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; brothers, Allen FOLSTER, Salina; Thomas FOLSTER, San Francisco, California; sisters, Mrs. F. M. (Montess) HOWARD, Mrs. Ernest (Faye) GREER, Mrs. Frank (Cleofa) FOULGER, Salt Lake City and Mrs. Loren (Viva) TERRY, Morgan.
Military Services will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. in the Ephraim West Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Buchanan Mortuary in Manti, on Thursday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and at the Chapel an hour prior to the Services.
