He and his family operated a mill just outside of Pilot Point. By 1886 he met and married Hallie Hunt, previously of Kentucky. In October od 1863 their first child, Clarence Vard was born and then in 1889 his sister, Hadie, was born.
Unfortunately by the turn of the century, John's and Hallie's marriage broke up. Hallie went westward with the kids and John went north to the Indian Terretory.
By 1904 John was married to a Lillie (Lilly) May Luttrell who bore him three children, Odice H. (abt. 1904-?), Obert L. (abt. 1906-?), and George E. Jackson (3 Mar 1908-3 Jul 1972). Sometime between 1910 and 1920 it is suspected that Lillie passed away for on the 1920 census, each off the children were residing with one of John's older brother's children).
By 1930 John Wright Jackson was living with his grandson, Clarence Vard Jackson, in the Red Fork district of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Sometime later, John was diagnosed with tuberculosis. Sometime around 1940, John's son, Obert, drove him to Portland, Oregon. Twenty days beore he died, John was admitted to Eastern Oregon Tuberculosis Hospital
in The Dalles, Oregon where he passed away on July 7, 1941. At this time he is buried in an unmarked grave located at plot 41ZZ.
