Nathan's participation as a Patriot Soldier in the American Revolution was told about in Season 2, Episode 9 of "Finding Your Roots" (PBS, Henry Louis Gates Jr). Henry told the story of Nathan to Guest David Sedaris., Both David and I (Grant Sullivan Jr.), are 4th great-grandsons of Nathan Wood & Lucy (Johnson) Wood via their daughter Nancy (Wood) Brown.
Nathan & Lucy had the following children:
1) Jerusha J (Wood) Underwood (1784 - 1857)
2) Nancy (Wood) Brown (1786 - 1862)
3) Lucy Wood (1787 - 1883)
4) Mary "Polly" (Wood) Balch (1791 - 1850)
5) Lora / Laura (Wood) Abbey (1792 - 1876)
6) Hannah (Wood) Abbey (1794 - 1874)
