Paul J.Vondrak, 76, of Jefferson, S.D., formerly of Sioux City, died Monday Aug.25,1997 at Sioux City Hospital. Services were held Friday Aug.29,1997 at St.Paul's Catholic Church with Rev. Andrew Swietochowski officiating. Burial in St.Peter's Cemetery in Jefferson, S.D.
Paul was born Sept.29,1920 in rural Hinton, Iowa, the son of Joseph & Edna (Taylor) Vondrak. He graduated from Central High School in Sioux City in 1937 and attended Trinity College. He married Genevieve Girard on Jan.31,1944 in Sioux City. The couple lived in Sioux City while farming near Sioux City for a brief time, then moved near Westfield, Ia. They moved to Jefferson, S.D. in 1976 where he farmed. He was a member of St.Peter's Catholic Church the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie # 2492 in South Sioux City, Neb., a number of Square dancing clubs.
Survivors include his beloved wife; a daughter Barbara and husband Richard Atchison of Worthington, Minn.; three grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents.
