Geraldine Ramminger, age 85, of 3656 Haines Road, Sturgeon Bay, died Saturday,
July 12, 1997, at Door County Memorial Hospital, Sturgeon Bay.
A Private Family Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, 1997,
at First Lutheran Church Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Steven Olson with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
She was born December 24, 1911, in Mishicot, daughter of the late John and Theresa Broeker Vertz. She attended schools in the Mishicot area and graduated with the class of 1929 from the Mishicot High School. She married Earl C. Ramminger on July 20, 1935, in Mishicot. Mr. and Mrs. Ramminger owned and operated Ramminger Bakery on South 10th Street in Manitowoc for 25 years. She was a former member of First Lutheran Church, Manitowoc, a member of the Wisconsin Teacher's Association, the Lutheran Church of Good Shepherd, Seminole, Fla. She was also an active volunteer in the Seminole, Fla. area.
Survivors include her husband, Earl C. Ramminger, Sturgeon Bay/Seminole, Fla.; two daughters and one son-in-law, Nancy DeFaut, Seminole, Fla., Susan C. and Larry Mesarich, Burnsville, Minn.; one sister-in-law, Helen Vertz, Owosso, Mich.; three grandchildren, Jill (Michael) Wicks, Manitowoc, Robyn (Joe) Wisely, Clearwater, Fla., Jody Holmes, St. Petersburg, Fla.; five great-grandchildren, Jed Schultz, Manitowoc, David and Steven Wicks, Manitowoc, Toby Gaugh, Seminole, Fla., Travis Holmes, St. Petersburg, Fla. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Rev. Kenneth Vertz and one grandchild, Susan Gaugh.
The Jens Funeral Home and Crematory assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
