great-great-grandfather of one of my best friends. I've been working on her
genealogy.

John came to America under an assumed name. His real name was Mueller. Due
to the reluctance of his friend, John Henry Kelner, to make the voyage to
America. Mr. Mueller used Kelner's passport. After arriving in America, he
continued to use the name of John Henry Kelner, in fear of being deported.
