Beautiful were the last rites held for Mrs. Sam H. Moore, at the First Baptist church of Gonzales, Friday, July 7. The eveving sun shed its glow of golden rays through the window, casting a soft glow about the casket and flowers which filled the rostrum and entwined the choir rail bespoke the love and respect she had won from friends during her span of 77 years, 1 month and 23 days.

In spite of all that love and highly skilled hands could do, a heart attack abruptly ended the life of Mrs. Moore. On Wednesday evening at 8:30, she passed quietly into Eternity to meet her Master whom she had served so devoutly since her youth.

Rev. J. Earl Byrant, her pastor, was in charge of the funeral services by the Rev. Roy A. Carley, her son-in-law, and the Rev. Claud O'Neal a life time friend. Songs she loved so well were played softly on the organ by Miss Lecian Kluge who also accompanied Dennis Carley, a grandson, as he sang so beautifull, "The Old Rugged Cross" Comforting scriptures were read after which a message of faith, love and hope from understanding hearts brought comfort and added an effulgent glow to precious memories.

The body was taken to the W.O.W. cemetery where it was laid to rest in the family lot beside the beloved son. Pallbearers were Carroll Wiley, Addison Reid, Sidney Gustafson, Paul Wenske and Lewis Eckols.

Mrs. Moore was born May 11, 1884, at Gonzales, Texas. On Nov. 17, 1901, she was united in marriage to Sam H. Moore spending most of their married life in Gonzales county. The celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in their home on Nov. 17, 1951. She is survived by her husband Sam Moore, five daughters, Mrs. Ross (Rholene) McCaskill and Mrs. Byron (Olive) Christian of Gonzales, Mrs. Edward (Gladys) Smith, Marble Falls; Mrs. Addison (Doris) Johnson, Lake Jackson; Mrs. Roy (Carol) Carley, Odessa, Texas and 1 son, Raymond D. Moore, Gonzales. A son, Sammie Moore, preceded her in death in 1942. She also leaves 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, Joe McCaskill and Carolyn Frances Johnson prededed her in death.

Faithful to the end, are the words so lovingly and beautifully lived through the yeasrs by this devoted wife and mother. Since her going away the testimonial of memorial gifts have given us solation and lightened the burden of our hearts. To know her was to love her. Her life was one of undying love and disire to be helpful, and was spent in useful service for others, Her faith in God never faltered.

One so faithful and so true
So submissive to Gods will
Oh, we miss her so much too,
Our hearts with anguish cant
be stilled.

A place made vacant in our home.
Which never can be filled.
