He directed films such as "La Bataille du Rail" (1946), "Les Maudits" (1947), "Jeux Interdits" (1952) (wich earned him the Oscar to the best film in foreign language), "This Angry Age" (1958), "Plein Soleil" (1960), "Paris brûle-t-il?" (1966) and "Le Passager de la Pluie" (1969).
